Caroline Fraser’s…Prairie Fires is…a biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the justly famous Little House books, and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane. But it’s also an impressionistic study of several key moments in the history of the United States, from the 1870s through the 1940s.
